This Newsweek cover showing President Obama as Lord Shiva has, interestingly, upset some Indian-Americans and insulted a Malaysian Hindu organization which requested a ban on sale of the magazine.
Lord Shiva is the Hindu "Destroyer of the Universe."
Shiva is responsible for change both in the forms of death and destruction of the Hindu Trinity to make room for the new. Naturally, I see the spiritual implications in this likeness, or comparison. Interesting, to say the least.
