The Final Exam

That's what we are experiencing right now. God's Final Exam.

If you feel an escalation of tension between yourself as a Christian, and others (Christian or not), I believe it's because the Lord is 'pressing the issue' with each of us, testing us to the outer boundaries of our faith and commitment to him - as well as testing others for the same purpose - into salvation or upward in spiritual growth and maturity - whatever applies to each individual's spiritual situation

The ultimate question seems to be: How far are you willing to go in obedience to Jesus Christ, The Word? How solid is your commitment to Him? How much are you willing to suffer?

Are you willing to be obedient no matter the cost? As a parent, a child, a grandparent, a friend - are you willing to take the stand that the Lord is asking of you even if it means alienation in those relationships? Is Jesus Christ really number one in your life?

Those on the other side of the relationship are also involved in the Final Exam in exactly the same way, whether the question regards their salvation or their Christian commitment. We all take the Final Exam.

It's as though time is speeding up and all of these test situations are escalating in time and space, gathering speed as if we were spiritual tumbleweeds being blown down a tunnel with increasing speed, and at the end of the tunnel is the Change, the Translation, the Rapture (or not, as the individual case may be).

The question could be one of salvation, one of faith, one of obedience, each designed for the individual. It's the most amazing spiritual phenomenon I have ever experienced.

The Lord seems to be calling out to us for the best we have, the highest rung of the ladder. We seem to be called to the highest test of our Christian life.  I find it exhilarating in the same way a mountain climber might experience the climb - full of challenges that are designed to exercise every muscle, fraught with all kinds of personal testing, falling rocks, hunger and thirst, cold and heat, sadness and fulfillment, hanging on for dear life - riding the wave - all leading to the anticipated spiritual apex - the incredible view at the top of the mount.

It's a road traveled but once at such a speed, and it's by far the most important highway your spirit has ever journeyed. You are being called to the utmost of your capabilities - the highest heights - the top rung of spiritual attainment, and all for His Glory!

Soon, as the Christian passes the speed of sound and light, in a flash you will find yourself at the feet of His Majesty, the King of Kings! There you will learn your test score which will determine your reward in Heaven. You hope to hear, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant," as the Lord places a crown upon your head - a crown which you will immediately place at the feet of the Redeemer, the Lord of Lords who has made possible your very presence there.

These days right now seem to be more important - to count more - than any other days in all of life. We are in the closing days of our earth journey, our life school. You are now pretty much a done deal - a product of the priority you have placed on the spiritual while here on earth. It's too late to cram for this test. You are being watched ...  and monitored.

We're in the Final Exam.
