Rev. 5 says, in speaking of the church during the Millennium: "...with Your blood You purchased men unto God from every tribe and language and people and nation. And You have made them a kingdom (royal race) and priests to our God, and they shall reign [as kings] over the earth!" The life of a royal family is very different than that of the rest of the population.
When we were born as babies we became a part of earth's vast population. But when we were born again we were born into God's own family. John 1:12-13: "...But to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God -- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God."
"Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ." Galatians 4:3-7
In fact, as Paul says in Romans 8:17, "we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ." That's a significant statement.
When Jesus Christ takes the legal title to Planet Earth away from Satan, this planet is then legally deeded over to Christ, who purchased it with his blood. Yes, the cosmos is operated under a legal structure. Planet Earth will be the Lord's inheritance ... and our inheritance, as co-heirs. We will rule and reign under the Lordship of Christ, as members of the Royal Family. The earth's nations will come to the New Jerusalem to worship and bring honor and glory to Christ and his household, of which we will be members.
Paul was very clear that we see our positions as a present reality and to live in a manner worthy of our high calling as a royal priesthood, to which we have already attained (Phil. 3:16). In fact, "hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:" Eph 2:6.
This is as serious as it gets. We already have a seat at the table in the heavenly places. We have total access right now. Are we appropriating these privileges right now? He has given us a responsibility right here in the flesh. How well we carry out our duties here on earth will determine the role we play in the New Jerusalem. We need to be 100%-ers. We need to run the race well in order to win the prize in store for us.
I Peter 2:9: "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light."
Of singular importance, every day we live on this earth, should be our accountability to Christ.
