By virtue of his stubborn heart, he has been made a tool of Satan.
God's Word spends no time in proving the existence of God. The Bible opens in Genesis 1:1 with: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth," and states it in a different way in John 1:1. Other than that bare statement the Bible does not argue for God's existence, does not debate the matter and doesn't deal with any possibility of the non-existence of God.
It is assumed - and so stated - that only a fool would fail to recognize such an obvious truth. Since the world in this age attacks God at every opportunity, the conclusion we must come to is that our world is full of fools. As God's World so clearly states, the last days will be overrun by deception and spiritual blindness.
"Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind, And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit." Matthew 15:14.
"And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God."
God ignores any type of argument with a fool. A fool, by definition, cannot see truth. God dismisses him with one sentence, and so should we. It's a waste of time to 'cast our pearls before swine.'
The beautiful truth, however, is that each of us has the choice between life with no purpose or meaning ... or life in the light of the truth - and eternal life, at that. "...I have set before you life and death...: therefore, choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live." Deut. 30:19.
"'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'" Rev. 3:20-22.
"This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life." 1 John 2:25.
He has given each person the opportunity to choose:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16.
"...that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation... for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED." Romans 10:9-10, 13
As long as you're breathing, he invites you to accept Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross as redemption for your sinful state.
Don't be a fool. Choose life.
