UFO Disclosure/Contact, Part 6 - Joe Jordan

Continuing information from a recent seminar, "Official Disclosure: Prepare For Contact," featuring top researchers, ex-government agents, world-famous field investigators, physicists and theologians. The post contains info directly from the featured speaker. Any comments by me will be in brackets []. Very light editing done on Q&As. (Whew!)

Joe Jordan is a 16-yr field investigator for the Mutual UFO Network, President of the CE4 Research Group, Co-founder of the Paranormal and Alien Abductors Problem Solvers Int'l (PAAPSI). Joe is also the co-author, with David Ruffino, of the upcoming book, "Unholy
Communion: The Alien Abduction Phenomenon, Where It Originates and How It Stops," about which Dr. Michael Heiser in his endorsement of the book, said: "If even 10% of the witnesses in this book are honest about what happened to them, and in particular how they were rescued from their torment, then David and Joseph have earned the right to be heard."

Q: Can you explain to the listeners what CE4 stands for?
A: Close Encounter of the Fourth Kind, which is alien abductions.

Q: I want to ask you about this spate of recent news concerning the big question: are we alone in the universe, that is coming out of the Royal Society meetings. I have 10-12 headlines in front of me that have all come out in the last few days, one from yesterday, "Lord Rees Says Aliens May Be Staring Us in The Face." There has never been a time in history when you had such a panel of scientists as in the Royal Society meetings taking this issue head on and actually talking about it in terms of it being a real phenomenon, and therefore that there should be a concerted effort on the part of NASA, governments, to look deeply into this whole subject of astrobiology.
A: I've seen more and more of this starting to come out over the past couple years. When I got into UFO research 16 years ago it was nothing like it is today, and the push for disclosure and research being done in the scientific fields compared to 15-20 years ago has dramatically changed.

Q: How did you enter the field of UFO research?
A: It's not something I was always interested in. It was kind of accidental. I was on a vacation, and I had a 10-hour flight ahead of me to go to Alaska. I stopped in a little news stand in the airport and picked up a book, and being an avid sci-fi reader, I thought I had a sci-fi book in my hand, and when I flipped the book over and read the back cover I was puzzled, because it said this book was about honest, serious investigation, It puzzled me that what looked like sci-fi could in any way be related to serious investigations, and the title of it was "UFO Crash in Roswell." The book consumed me, and I couldn't put my head around it. I had no background in the study of UFOs and no interest at all in the subject. Over the next couple of months I contacted some of the people that were part of MUFON and became a member, then trained to be a field investigator and after a while I had my own team of investigators. I continue to stay with MUFON for a number of reasons. They helped me right at the beginning in the training and provided a basis and foundation from which to work, and I recommend people who want to get into the research aspect of UFOs to become a MUFON member. I think it's an excellent group.

Q: How open is MUFON if an investigation seems to be going in the direction of the metaphysical or paranormal, or smacks of the demonic. Do you find a resistance to that kind of thinking, are they open to it, or what?
A: There's quite a resistance to it. That's something I've encountered over the years, but it doesn't deter me from working with them. I guess it's kind of a love/hate relationship. They know what I've come across and what my research consists of, and they are not open to it and they really won't talk to me about it.

Q: When you say there's a resistance to it, are you talking about it from an organizational point of view? Have you come into contact with other members who believe there could be something in this that is other-worldly?
A: Oh, yes. And I've seen that change happen over the years. When I first got into this, the push was to verify the so-called aliens are ET biological entities, and I've seen the move away from that over the years, to more and more it being termed 'inter-dimensional,' and I guess they're at a loss to explain the abilities that these entities have. The shift going into the inter-dimensional aspect of it kind of gives them an answer to work with for what these entities are able to do.

Q: For you, specifically, when did your research start focusing on alien abductions?
A: As a state section director for MUFON, we had monthly meetings, and after the first couple of years we started to see that doing sighting investigations was like chasing your tail. MUFON has been doing sighting investigations since 1959, and it still continues today. But we saw that we weren't going to get to any of the answers we wanted out of this research unless we changed our avenue of focus. And because of our monthly meetings, we started hearing stories from people attending the meetings, claiming that they were either contactees or abductees. So we started listening to their stories and thinking about their involvement with this phenomenon. We started to realize that if you're trying to get to the source of what this is all about you need to get closer to the source itself. We realized that these people who were claiming contact or the abduction
experience were closer to the source of the experience than the people who were having sighting only. So we decided to move our focus to the abduction realm because they seemed to be on the front line of the UFO phenomenon.

Q: Were you seeing anything different in your research than that of other abduction researchers?
A: Once we started really getting in depth and doing the investigations with the experiencers themselves we were not seeing anything different in our findings than what most of the top researchers in the world were already seeing. We couldn't understand what was causing the experience, why certain people had the experience, and why was it seeming to be generational? We didn't have any more answers than they did. [Generational is key. It is very common for demonic activity to inhabit generation after generation of individuals.]

Q: You soon came across something very different in your findings that would change the course of your abduction research. Can you enlighten us a little bit on that?
A: Yes, and this was where the line of my focus on UFO research has been for the last 16 years. We came across one very unusual case that we had to look at very closely and try to understand what was happening. A gentleman was sharing his story, and during our interviewing of him and he stated that he had a typical abduction experience in 1976, but during the actual experience he had fallen into a panic situation. He was in sheer terror of the experience itself. During the experience he called out in the name of Jesus Christ, and he said the experience abruptly stopped. Well, that puzzled us because in all the research we had done, and in all of our reading
and watching videos, etc., we never saw where anybody had ever stopped an experience. As a matter of fact, most of the researchers were saying it wasn't possible. But here we had a particular case of a man saying he had stopped this experience ABRUPTLY while it was happening. And this was the method that he used. So we started to look into that and I contacted some of the top abduction researchers in the country and shared this with them, and each time we shared this with one, he would say "Can I go off the record?" And I said, "Sure, just help me here." Off the record, meaning I can't tell you who said what, but I can tell you what they said. My question to them was, "Have you ever come across this type of experience in your research?" And what I was getting from them was, "Yes, we have." So I asked them why they had not shared this information, because we haven't read about it anywhere in your writings, we haven't heard about it or seen it in any of your conference materials, and most UFO researchers say it's not possible. The answer I got from most of them was that they didn't know what to make of it. I would have been fine with that, but most of them had another answer that came along with that, and it was "We didn't want to go there, because it might hinder the way we're looked at in the field of research." And, I thought, these guys are sitting on relevant information and not sharing it. That's called COVER UP. Here they have findings in their research, but because they're uncomfortable sharing it because of their reputations, they just don't report it. When I realized what was happening I told them that I had nothing to lose - I've come across something very unusual, I've confirmed that there are other cases like this. I'm going to take this one piece of the puzzle and run with it, and I'm going to find more of these cases and document them because it needs to be shared. It's part of the entire picture, one of the puzzle pieces that shows us what we're dealing with. That's when my research started to change, and that was
about 13 years ago.

Q: There have been various secular researchers, for instance Jacques Vallee, Dr. John Mack, Dr. John Keel, even Hynek; and they found that there was a strong similarity, if not an exact parallel, in their study of alien abduction phenomenon and historic demonology - demonism. They write about it in their own works. I'm talking about SECULAR researchers that said they had come to conclude that whatever this phenomenon is, in their minds it was identical to the biblical stories of demonism, and some of the stories of folk lore where people were visited by incubus and succubus, etc.

Q:How did you then go about building a database of these similar testimonies concerning deliverance by the name of Jesus, which would certainly carry with it the idea that this was most likely something of a demonic nature. And it also illustrates that in any case, no matter what it was, even if it was something from another world, that it would be subject to the authority of the name of Jesus Christ. Now, how in the world do you go about building a database of testimonies where you're finding redundancy to that story line?
A: That was our biggest problem in the beginning. Because we were confirmed by these other researchers that these types of cases were out there, and the hard part was trying to locate them. You want to be careful when doing the research that you aren't 'leading' these cases. I didn't want to put myself in a situation where I was out there trying to hunt these people down.
I wanted to make sure that they knew I was available, and they could freely come to me. And that's very important when you're building the researcher database, and I still stick by that today. I never search for them. We didn't know what to do in the beginning to get this started. And we were lucky enough, my partner and I who started CE4, we had a local newspaper reporter that had worked with us over the years in our local monthly MUFON meetings. He was always trying to keep an article going about us with upcoming events, etc., and when we came across this particular part of the research we brought it to him. He said the spiritual aspect was not his field of reporting and suggested we talk to the religious editor. He introduced us to her, Rita Elkins, at the Florida Today newspaper, and she took the information and put it together. We ended up getting two pages in the "People" section. And we were happy about that. During the next couple of weeks we got calls from all over the country. Gannett owned the paper, and they ran it in their affiliates all over the country. This was our first big exposure that let people know we were interested in this type of information. This was in 1997. The internet was just taking off back then, and someone picked it up on the internet, and it took off worldwide. Then a couple of months later, Flying Saucer Review printed the entire article. It was amazing because we had no idea how to get this information out there. We knew that people who didn't like it couldn't do anything to stop it at this point. Then we built our own website and started putting some of these stories up. ww.CE4Research.com. I think we have about 90 of the 400 or so cases on the site.

Q: Were you a Christian when you started this research?
A: No, I wasn't. I was pretty much an agnostic. I didn't believe in God. In fact I saw that as advantage, and it would be a good open, honest and totally objective and unbiased way to come into the area of UFO research. As I worked in the field I saw an increasing amount of New Age and metaphysical thinking involved in the UFO phenomenon, and I got tied up into that for about four years. It was in November 1996 that I had the gospel of Jesus Christ introduced to me in a way that I'd never heard it before, and became a Christian right at the time that I saw that first case about the intervention of Jesus. So I've seen this phenomenon from three different perspectives - agnostic, New Age, and Christian.

Q: What were your first feelings about this guy who said he'd stopped his abduction experience through the name of Jesus Christ? Were you a Christian by that time?
A; I had just become a Christian - brand spankin' new.

Q: Sounds like maybe God got you ready just in time, for what he wanted you to do. Have you shared your feelings and your findings with the UFO community in general?
A: I have been working on that over the years and having a hard time doing it. I spoke at Roswell at the UFO Festival a number of times, trying to share the message because a lot of people come there looking for answers, and it's kind of the Mecca for the UFOers. I had the opportunity to work with Guy Malone, who was the Director of the 60th Festival for the City of
Roswell. He got me a speaking position in 2007, and that was the first time I really had a public opportunity to share it with the secular community. And it was a hostile crowd. But I was able to get the message across. The Q&A got a little hostile. Then in 2008 I had the opportunity to be the Director of the Roswell UFO Conference for the city's UFO Festival, and again I had the
opportunity to share the gospel, and Dave Ruffino and I gave the "Unholy Communion" talk, and it pretty much shocked them. By that time we had their full attention. They never saw what was coming at them. You can hear that talk on my website in its entirety, and you can see why they were kind of angry. The researchers there were kind of hostile after we shared that talk, but at least we had a chance to share that piece of the puzzle at the table after all these years. It's been a tough one, trying to share it.

Q: Have you been able to help other people with the findings on your research?
A: Yes, and that wasn't our main intent in the beginning. When we started doing this research, all I wanted to do was to compile the data and let people take it for what they wanted to take it as. But the more we worked with these experiencers and had hundreds of opportunities to speak with these people, we started seeing some similarities that we needed to consider and making sure that we were keeping track of. Once we started getting all these testimonies posted up on the website, not only was I getting people contacting me, saying, "I'd like to share my testimony
because I've done this, too," we were having those that were contacting us saying: "I've read these testimonies; I'm having these experiences; can you help me stop them?" We were seeing people able to stop it and never again have the experience in their lives, and we then could say that, yes, we thought we could help them, and we have been able to help these people
stop the experiences, also.

Q: So it turned into a whole community of people that you minister to on a whole different level than what most of us are used to.
A: Yes. And there are only a handful of us in the world that have taken on this group of people. I guess you could call this a mission field. And if you listen to the polls that have been done on this over the years, they estimate possibly millions of people have been through this experience, and
it's terrifying. It turns your life upside down. There are a lot of hurting people out there that have had this experience, and there's just not a foundation set up to help them in the right way

Q: I would imagine that these people probably question their own sanity at times.
A; Oh, absolutely. In one of the talks I'm getting ready to do in Nashville, The Last Days Conference, at the end of April, and I'm continuing with my 'unholy communion' talks and I'm going to go deeper and explain how this has destroyed people's lives.

Q: There have been some secular researchers that have come across experiencers that have said that they used the name of Jesus and it didn't work. What would you say in response to these claims?
A: I've had this one thrown at me a number of times; it's one they try to trip me up with. There are some good answers for this question. What we have found here is not a magic word; it's not something you would use like 'abracadabra.' This must come from a belief, straight from the heart. We're seeing that these entities recognize this name as the authority, but they also recognize whether the person actually accepts that as the authority in his life. This is extremely important and needs to be recognized. The only way this works is for people who have actually claimed Jesus Christ as their Lord and Master, and have a personal relationship that they have been working on with Jesus Christ. The Bible says that Jesus knows his sheep. This name, Jesus, is thrown around in this field in a number of ways. You hear, for instance, the New Agers using the term "Christ consciousness" and we hear people say they've met Jesus on the space ships. Well, excuse me, that's not the same one that's working here in this instance. These people that say they've tried this and it didn't work - if I had a little bit of time to work with them ... next time it would work. When secular researchers tell me this I ask if they can introduce me to the particular persons; I'd like to speak with them. That never happens. But at the same time, I've brought my cases forward, and these people are there to talk to anyone who wants to talk to them. They are not secret. Many are on the website. At my 2008 conference I had 10 people up on that stage who were living examples...you never see that at UFO conferences. You see fuzzy pictures, fuzzy videos, people saying 'trust me, this is what I found.' I specifically tell people at the end of these conferences, "Please, don't trust me. Trust the evidence." Secular researchers won't even talk to them. They won't check them out to see if they're real - because they know they are, and they don't want to deal with it. It's easier for them to just come against me personally, as a Christian.

Q: What do you believe is the agenda of these alien entities?
A: I believe that what's happening here is a powerful delusion and deception. What I'm seeing as a result of people coming into contact with them is that it takes their focus off the one true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. These entities come with a message. A lot of these
experiencers have come into contact with communications that are always anti-God, anti-Bible, anti-Christ. They're coming here to preach a new gospel, which we have been warned about in the Bible. This is why the title of my next seminar is "Casualties of a Cosmic War." The prize of this war is eternal souls, and I think these people are doomed if they don't get help.

Q: A lot of researchers and scientists are pressing for disclosure by the US Gov't. Are you in favor of that, and do you think it will happen?
A: I am in favor of disclosure, and in 2007 at the 60th Anniversary Conference, Stephen Bassing (sp?) was there and he was pushing for US disclosure, and I agree. I have my view of what this is all about, but I can no more get my message out there than he can. But the secular researchers
are pushing for government disclosure, and I'm all for it because I'm going to ride that wave. If they can get some kind of recognition and public awareness of this phenomenon, then they're also going to have to listen to our findings, which will give us an avenue to share with the public the unwanted piece of the puzzle.

Q: I want to also get your position on recent Vatican comments. You have astronomers, one of which said recently that there is a certain possibility, from their point of view, of intelligent life out there in the universe - and that idea would not contradict the Catholic faith. Those statements by Funes were the latest in a string of comments by Vatican astronomers who are evidently confirming a belief they have that discovery might be made in the near future, and they're talking about ET Intelligence, not micro-organisms; and that this discovery will not unhinge the doctrine of Christ. Balducci not only said that ET's are real, but they are on earth now, and even inter-acting with the earth governments, and that people at the highest levels of the Vatican administration were aware of it. Before that, maverick Catholic theologian, Malachi Martin, said the reason the Vatican is so invested in this is because they know what is coming. It seems like the Vatican either knows something that we don't know, or at a minimum they're trying to preserve their authority among the laity by positioning themselves, just in case. This is the same institution that put people to death who questioned whether the earth was flat or round.
A: Well, I'd almost have to go with the latter of what you suggested. I don't see in biblical scripture that there is even an allowing of the possibility of ET life. I believe you will find intelligent life out there, but it won't be ET or biological entities. I believe that the reference of the 'host of heaven' being the angelic realm - most people would say that's from a supernatural realm, or that they do exist. But if they are part of God's creation like we are, then it's not a supernatural realm; it's part of the natural realm. I think when you start looking at the fruits of what these entities do, and what they communicate, and their effects on people, you're going to see that they're not very good [righteous]. I think we're going to have a lot of work to do in picking up the pieces from people who get involved with them. I think the Vatican is very deceived on all of this. I don't understand exactly what their purpose is in making the statements they've made, except that they haven't done the research.

Q: Could it be part of a great deception?
A: Oh, absolutely. We're seeing that come at us from so many different avenues, whether it be from the Vatican or Hollywood or different governments that are pushing agendas, we're seeing a lot of deception going on in this field. We're seeing deception from the researchers
themselves, the ones we've been relying on for the truth. They're only sharing what fits their agenda.

Q: Some of the Christian theologians we've been talking to about eschatological issues have a theory that the Vatican could even unknowingly [or knowingly] play into a deception where they are saying if these things appear they are our space brothers, a part of the family of God. They say they won't disrupt the authority of the church or unhinge the doctrine of Christ, and that this sets people up to be willing to accept, as part of God's family, the appearance of these things, so that if there's a Rapture and people are missing, and all of a sudden there's an armada of spaceships and these 'brothers in Christ,' according to the Vatican, say 'we took some of them away and left some of you here' ... is this all just sci-fi, in terms of theology, eschatology? Do you think there's anything about any of this that could really play out that way?
A: I think it's a possibility. That's just a personal opinion. What I will tell you is that in the research I worked with, I tried not to push my personal opinion. I like for people to just look at the evidence. Which may bring up some of these questions in their own minds.

Q: Even among non-Christians, some espouse what they call the 'ancient astronaut theory.' Can you explain this theory and how your views would differ from theirs?
A: Their idea is that there were beings [aliens] here in our ancient history, and they were mistaken for gods. The one thing that people are not understanding is that these are gods with a small 'g'. And that's the deception. And what we're dealing with here is that these entities are the same small 'g' gods from ancient history [fallen angels and their offspring]. The ones that Hynek and Vallee wrote about, the little gods, are the ETs, and we've been dealing with them throughout history, all along. They're still doing the same deceptive things, except to a higher degree. This is something that needs to be looked at, and that is the extent of the deception that we're dealing with now, compared to earlier times. I think it's leading up to something very big, a culmination of events that are happening.

Q: You mentioned things that happened earlier in history; there are some people who believe that this ET contact, both ancient and modern, it is related to ancient fallen angels, who gave birth to the Nephilim, that what they were doing in their day is somehow related to what's happening now. And that this could even play some role in fulfilling this prophecy of Christ,
that 'as it was in the days of Noah,' so will it also be at his coming. Do you think there is anything to that?
A: I do. I don't know to what extent. I think some of the best work I've read on that is by Steven Quayle, where he shows how these particular entities in history, that we're talking about, seemed to have been power players in all the different religions around the world. If you look at it as a whole, there are really only two religions, the ones that are of Christ, and all of those that are not. He is able to show that these entities have been behind all of those other ones that are not of Christ.

Q: Now also among the schools of thought about these aliens, some people believe that it doesn't matter if they're angelic, demonic, ET, but they believe they are actually traveling to the earth from far distances away, by advanced technology, wormholes, etc. And then there's another school of thought that believes they exist all around us in parallel dimensions. They use a portal,
a stargate, a doorway, etc. and are literally moving from one of the possibly ten dimension, into our three (or four) dimensional reality, and for that moment in time they become visible and tangible to us, and then they can move back out.
A: I believe what you're describing there is what you would refer to as a manifestation. If the research that I have, showing that people were able to stop these entities in the name and authority of Jesus Christ, along with their documented abilities that these entities have, leads us to believe that we're dealing with an inter-dimensional entity. If you're looking at scripture those were called angelic hosts, and with the messages that are coming from them, they are demonic hosts; what we're seeing is their manifestation ability. Because in scripture you're able to see the abilities of God's angels. Science likes to say there are a number of dimensions, but as a Christian looking at scripture we know there are two: there is the spiritual dimension, then there's the physical dimension; and they live in the spiritual dimension, but they have the ability to manifest into the physical. Scripture shows us that. And these fallen angels I believe have the same abilities as God's good angels, just with a different purpose - an evil purpose. And this is something we do see in the abduction experience where these people have seen these entities actually appear, and then actually disappear. And we're seeing that ability; that's not an ET biological entity ability. This is something that's coming from another dimension and manifesting to this dimension. I believe that if this is what it's showing, that these are what is called angels in scripture, then, no, they're not from out there. They're from right here. And they're all around us all the time, and the deception that we're seeing here is their manifestation coming across in the facade of the ET, because that's something they want us to believe in.

Q: In this field of study there are basically two primary things that turn up. It's the aliens, the 'pilots' of the UFO crafts; and then there's the UFO craft itself. You have two separate things. Some people believe it isn't two separate things; it's just simply the way that these things are manifesting themselves. In other words, the craft is the spirit; the spirit is the craft. A couple of years ago during the 60th anniversary of the Roswell event, we interviewed Stanton Friedman, who is convinced that there was a tangible craft - an actual craft - that was recovered. Have you looked into that part of the Roswell event and do you believe that there was an actual craft that
would be extraordinary, in other words it wasn't a weather balloon; it was something unearthly? It wasn't built by the Russians or us; it was something tangible and yet not of this world? Do you have any thoughts on that?
A: I have looked into that, and continue to look into that, and that is such a research mess going on there. We're seeing so much misinformation going on, besides good information, so it's hard to sort it out. I know these guys are trying real hard to get answers.

Q:Could it be that these entities left something behind for this event?
A: It's a possibility. I do leave that open, that they could have left something, and one of the best descriptions of Roswell that I ever heard was back in 2003 at Roswell, and I was listening to Richard Hoagland - just a group of us standing around talking - and somebody asked him what he thought of the Roswell event? It's not his type of research, but he did make a unique statement that I'll never forget. He felt that what he knew about the research into the Roswell event was a Trojan Horse. I thought that was most profound. [So do I.] In other words, that whole event was a setup by these entities - to perpetuate this deception. And what we're seeing here is, I believe, whatever it takes to get you to believe that these entities are really aliens.

Q: What's so interesting is that when I asked you that question, what I had written down was 'Trojan Horse,' ... and if you didn't go there, I was going to ask you if you thought that could be a possibility. Great minds think alike! As far as I know this is the first time in such studies that this kind of analytical duplication - where you're using guidelines for redundancy - has been
employed in this way, because this (talking about Jordan's new book) is a methodology that's similar to what scientists or investigators would use to illustrate repeatability. And as I was reading your book, this is what kept standing out to me, because in science this is how you make your case, how you get something peer-reviewed, is that you repeat it over and over again, and therefore you can get what's called 'cause and effect.' You're using scientific methodology to try to prove something, a pattern to something that is otherwise extraordinary, and in this case it has to do with abduction and deliverance, in which the name of Jesus Christ emerges in a way that you said earlier, no other name ... it's not a magic formula. It really comes down to a matter of faith, and when you're a part of the body of Christ, you then do have an authority and evidently that authority extends to whatever theses things are, according to your research. [I agree.]
A: Some people could be dealing with medications, with sleep paralysis, you can't go into looking for demons behind every bush. Some could be dealing with mental issues, and all of those things must be considered before it gets down to what I believe is a spiritual event.
Q: Any final comments?
A: I would say that the one thing that I'm having the biggest trouble with in all the years is getting people to look at the evidence for itself. I want people to not trust me, but to look at the evidence and trust that. It's free to be looked at on www.CD4research.com

___________END

COMMENT: After studying the spirit world and UFOs for almost 40 years, I believe this guy has hit the nail right on the head. This, in my opinion, is exactly the true situation and explanation of UFOs - including the idea that the 'craft' at Roswell was a Trojan Horse scenario.

UFO Disclosure/Contact, Part 5 - James Hughes

Continuing information from a recent seminar, "Official Disclosure: Prepare For Contact," featuring top researchers, ex-government agents, world-famous field investigators, physicists and theologians. The post contains info directly from the featured speaker. Very light editing in the verbatim Q&A posts. Any comments by me will be in brackets [].

Dr. James Hughes is Director of Institute of Ethics and Emerging Technology, Bioethicist and sociologist at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. where he teaches health policy and serves as Assoc. Dir. of Institutional Research and Planning, holds a doctorate in Sociology from the Univ. of Chicago, where he also taught bioethics at the McLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics. Dr. Hughes is a Fellow of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences, a member of Humanity Plus, the Neuro Ethics Society, the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities, the Working Group on Ethic and Tech at Yale Univ., and is the celebrated author of "Citizen Cyborg: Why Democratic Societies Must Respond to the Redesigned Human of the Future."

NOTE: Transhumanism seeks to improve human beings by altering their DNA, adding genes, adding robotics and other technology to bring us to a state of post-human. Most do not believe in God.

Q: I'd like to get your response to all of the information that has been coming out on this subject and particularly in the Royal Society meetings. Have you paid any attention to this?
A: I did, and it's certainly on the radar screen of transhumanists in general. We are very interested in the topic of ET as it might reflect on our own trajectory here on earth.

Q: We're also approaching the anniversary of the day in April 1960 when astronomer Frank Drake at Cornell formulated his Drake Equation and kick-started the SETI program. Can you explain the Drake Equation, and what do you think of SETI?
A: I'm a strong supporter of SETI, and the Drake Equation is basically a set of calculations that try to figure out what the likelihood is of there being starfaring civilizations in our galaxy. A lot of it has been hand waving because we haven't had sufficient information about the formation of planets, for instance, around stars. But to the extent that we could, over the last 40-50 years, folks have been trying to plug into this equation. What we do know is that there is no visible evidence of other intelligent species in the galaxy, and that's pretty disappointing.

Q: Drake calculated a mathematical possibility of somewhere around 10,000 civilizations of ET intelligence. And I noticed coming out of these meetings, out of the UK over the last couple of weeks, that even the Royal Astronomer, Lloyd Martin Rees, who bends the queen's ear on such matters, had an article this week in which he said aliens may be staring us in the face, and we just don't recognize them.
A: Well, first, on the math possibilities,as I said, I think almost all people who try to plug in the numbers come up with the possibility that there have been in the past many civilizations capable of starfaring. Whether a civilization actually wants to go to the stars once they get capable of it is another whole question. I think that what Martin is pointing out is that we've been very anthropocentric about our expectations of what they would look like; most of the cultural expectations in the last 50 yrs have been of these kind of humanoid, flying saucer types; and it's most likely that the way the other species around the galaxy would have colonized or explored the galaxy, would have been in robotic - and potentially nanorobotic form. So if you start to extrapolate along THOSE lines, it may be that cockroaches may be one of the nanorobotic forms of life that aliens have sent here to check us out with. And that, of course, is certainly possible. It's a heck of a lot easier to send a tiny little robot through space in terms of payload and robustness of the form of life, than to send a big sack of meat and flesh and water [that would be us]. So, it's most likely that we wouldn't recognize as living, whatever they sent here.

Q: One of your friends is a Chair in the IEET, transhumanist philosopher, Director of the humanist Future of Humanity Institute at the Univ of Oxford, Nick Bostrum. Within the last year or so, he has written an editorial in which he says that he desperately hopes that we never find signs of ET life, advanced or otherwise, because of something having to do with what he called "the great filter." Can you explain what Bostrum was talking about?
A: It starts with the Fermi Paradox, which is the observation that so far as we can tell there's no evidence of other intelligence or starfaring civilizations in the galaxy. Now, there's the problem of time, that we may not have overlapped with their existence and the spread of their visible presence. There's many different kinds of problems with this, but it doesn't seem like they're out there. They're not doing the kind of galactic engineering that we might expect a civilization to do. Then, if that's the case, the question is: why, what happened to all the potential civilizations, that they never got to that stage? And then we want to try and extrapolate what's our likelihood of getting to that stage? So, what Nick is saying is if we were to see some evidence of them out there, then it's possible that the reason that they're aren't a lot of them is that they blow themselves up at a certain point. You get to the point of civilizational robustness, and then you invent nanotechnology or you invent quantum tunneling or something like that, and you just blow yourself to smithereens. If that's what happens to all of the potential civilizations out there, and there's a couple that make it past that, to the starfaring stage that they would become visible to us, that's bad news for us. If, on the other hand, what happens to all those civilizations is that you get up to the mammal (nano?) stage and then there's no payoff for intelligence, which is one of the hypotheses, that evolutionary theory says that intelligence is an accident, basically. So, if intelligence is an accident that we happened to have lucked into, and the reasons that we don't see starfaring civilizations is that all those others have life on them, but they never got intelligent life on them, then that's relatively good news for us, because that means that altho we may still blow ourselves up in the future, blowing yourself up in the future isn't what happened to every other potential starfaring civilization. It's just that they never lucked into intelligence. So that's what he's saying, is that hopefully we're past whatever filters there are out there that keep starfaring civilizations from being visible.

Q: Remember a few years ago, when the Cydonia phase in the Cydonia region on Mars was really popular? At that time we interviewed some of the scientists and some of the people from NASA, and I particularly remember talking to a Dr Thomas van Flanderin, who was still working in astronomy, in Celestial Mechanics at Yale. He had worked w/a team of scientists trying to determine what the mathematical possibiities would be that those structures in the Cydonia Region - the face, the 5-sided pyramid, some of the other stuff that's in that area - had arisen naturally, or by chance. And at that time they had determined that the chances of it would have been a thousand billion billion to one against that, and that in their minds it was certain that these were artificial structures. Since that time NASA has put out more high res images that seem to have dissolved that theory, at least in some people's minds. Of course, others say it's all just a big conspiracy and NASA's actually hiding it. But beyond that it raises this other question; that if we were to find a world - whether it's Mars or some other place - and actually be able to certify that there are the remains, evidence - archaology or something - old buildings and cities, or whatever, that illustrate that at one time maybe an eon ago there was intelligent advanced life, and now all of a sudden it's gone - this would be Bostrum's nightmare, right?
A: Not a nightmare so much as that it would increase the likelihood that we are going to face, in our technology development, the kinds of threats that might have wiped out other potential civilizations. It seems very likely from our current point of view, since we know that there's nuclear weapons and bioterrorism and things like that, that we could wipe ourselves out. And then the question is: how likely is the civilization like ours, with our powers, to wipe itself out? And if you look around the galaxy and you see that almost all of them did [potentially], then that would be bad news for us. So that's the problem.

Q: So it's kind of illustrating if there is such a thing as a great filter, which side of it we're on, before or after.
A: Right.

Q: Transhumanists envision a not-too-distant future when the human body and mind will be optimized through bioengineering, neurocognitive manipulation, nanotech, cyborg adaption, AI, and that could - among other things - create an ideal astronaut for space exploration, that might include self-preparing physical, mental acuity, robust longevity, even the ability to interface with the AI mind of the ship. What can you tell us about this, the pros and cons, if there are any?
A: If you are open to the possibility that humanity might be able to have a post-biological form, and I think increasingly astrobiologists ARE open to that possibility, then you think about the difficulty of trying to get living, breathing humans from here to another star system, how much space you would need on a ship - even if they were frozen - to boost; and how much energy you would need to take to boost that ship across the stars. Versus - if we imagine this scenario: that we were able to download consciousness into some non-biological form and create what transhumanists refer to hypothetically as computronian (?), some kind of extremely dense form of matter that has information properties, so that you were able to record your consciousness into some forms of matter. So you could download your big bulky meat brain into a tiny little spec of nanomatter, put it inside...presumably you could do a lot of other things, make yourself 1000x more intelligent than you currently are, but at any rate - you download it into this little spec of matter, and then all you have to do is boost that across the stars. You get to the other end, you turn on your consciousness, and activate the nanoprobe, and it begins to build some kind of body for you, and you download into that. So if we're capable of thinking about how to do that, and we imagine that other species have already figured out how to do it someplace, that's one of the reasons why trying to look for the greys, or lizard people or something like that is probably an absurd expectation for what form they would take. So, even if you don't go to that extreme, just trying to get to Mars and the amount of radiation human beings are going to be exposed to in a 6-mo trip to Mars, requires as-yet-uninvented forms of radiation shielding for a space ship that would really cook us on the way. So we need to figure out how to make the human body a lot more robust than it currently is, to be able to sustain extended periods of weightlessness, to be able to sustain exposure to gamma rays and space radiation that we would currently need if we were going to become a starfaring civilization.

Q: On the subject of how long it would take, how much fuel it would take, even if you did have people frozen, some of the people we've been talking to this week, that take almost nuts and bolts interpretation of UFO-type craft, talk about how it might be possible that they might be manipulating wormholes or something, so they may be traveling extraordinary distances in a moment in time .. and in some theoretical application may be not only traveling far distances but traveling back and forward in time. That's nothing more than quantum physics, theorizing. But there are some people who believe that this is how you would get around this problem that you're talking about.
A: Well, once you get to that level of speculation basically anything's possible. If it is possible to create stable wormholes that people could travel through ... most of the theories for creating wormholes for the purposes of time travel or space travel, require that you create the wormhole one place and then take one side of it, and zip it around the galaxy to some place else. So that still requires physical space travel - and you have to tow around half of a wormhole - to the other side of the galaxy. So it's possible that it's hidden someplace, certainly sci fi speculates about that, that maybe civilizations have been to our solar system before, and out by Jupiter we're going to find a tiny little wormhole that we haven't noticed yet, that is the other end of something that we'll be able to connect up to. But, so far, we haven't seen anything like that.

Q: One of the physicist for CERN speculated that their large collider might actually open a gateway or a portal through which he said "we might send something or which something might come through to us. "So it's interesting speculation when it's coming from some of these people who do hold high degrees in physics and think that, at least on a theoretical level, it would be possible. Some of the other people we've talked to this week think that this whole idea that you're trying to use some kind of advanced science is silly, because whatever these ETs are, they are metaphysical. They're supernatural. Or extra dimensional, in that they're not traveling anywhere. They're around us all the time and maybe employ some kind of science for moving in and out of our 3-dimensional or 4-dimensional reality. But, I want to stick with transhumanism right now. There have been a number of new films, books, even comics, that employ the transhumanist theme of quasi-mortals involved in space exploration and discovery. One of the reviewers for James Cameron's new film, "Avatar," stated in his movie review five or six days ago, that this entire movie from his point of view was transhumanism from start to finish. He pointed at how 100% of the characters in the movie were doing everything they could do in the movie, because they were enhancing their bodies with external secondary means, plugging into remote links to Navi , having human/hybrid bodies, space marines using exo-skeleton suits. He talked about how the Navi are able to biologically interact with animals, and even the lesser characters were constantly using 3-D, immersive displays for nearly everything they do. I'd like to get your feedback on anything you may have noticed about the emergence of transhumanist themes in pop culture, especially as it involves the future dream of space exploration.
A: This has been a long time interest of mine. I started doing research on this about 20 years ago. My interest in particular is whether popular culture is reflecting an increasingly positive image of post-human, non-human intelligence. So I have been tracking the empires, zombies, aliens, robots, etc. as examples of trends, both in terms of our attitudes toward things like race - for instance, if you look at "Men in Black," the very first MIB movie starts with a very explicit reference to cross-border Mexican immigration, and attitudes toward them being also transplanted over there - to attitudes toward aliens on our planet. Many of these attitudes that people have toward alien life reflect popular anxieties about other cultures and peoples, and how quickly society is changing, and whether they're in control, and things like that. That's one aspect of it. But on the other hand, as transhumanists, we expect that there are going to be robot/humans and there are going to be human/animal hybrids, and we're concerned about how they're being portrayed because we think that there is a lot of potential for a hostile, negative public reaction [not surprisingly!]. So, we're interested in seeing that there be positive images, or at least sophisticated images that are both positive and negative. And I have not found a positive trend. I think you find positive images like "Avatar" but they're alongside a plethora of vampire and zombie films and films where the aliens want to suck out your brain. So for every time you find an example of post-human existence in a nonhuman body, you find examples of horrific images as well.I don't really think that there's a Hollywood conspiracy to soften this up. Hollywood is basically selling the images that people respond to, and they respond as much or more to horrific images of these things as they do to positive ones.

Q: I guess my point is that vision in film is often tomorrow's reality. Back when I was a kid we were watching Buck Rogers, now it's true in the 21st Century. He had that big watch, and within one generation we're carrying around devices that have more computing power than some of the big original military computer systems had during WWII. So I look at what we're seeing in film right now, and I think it will be tomorrow's science, and talking to you helps to separate what is reality and what will probably never happen.
A: I do think the Navi tech that they portray in the movie of humans being able to plug their consciousness into genetically compatible or neurologically compatible bodies is eventually going to be possible. That's kind of transhumanist dogma, that everything will eventually be possible.

Q: There's a lot in the transhumanist philosophy and vision for the future that concerns me because of my worldview [Questioner, Tom Horn, is a Christian] but I do believe that most of what is being speculated about is going to happen.
A: Well, pretty much by definition, if singularitarians are right that we're going to invent some superhuman consciousness and it will be capable of becoming godlike, as they call it, then yes, as soon as we get that then it would be possible in the next year, invent the Navi technology, and then do what they show in that movie. But whether those godlike AIs would want to stick around and help out humanity to invent ways of helping the disabled or not, that's one of the reasons I'm not a singularitarian.

Q: You kind of answered this a little earlier, but I want to rephrase it from this movie. The Navi, they're very humanlike. They feel passions almost identical to us, they have sex, they bear children, they raise families in
clans. They're an alien race very much like us, based on our concepts of what we think aliens would be or could be or should be - And how they, even in moral ways, would be superior to those gun-toting grunts that are going to want to mow everybody down in the film. How realistic is it, though, do you think, that if a discovery of ETI turned up in the very near future that we would be looking at people who are a very human-like species, and not just nanorobot roaches that you referred to earlier, but something that might be more similar to us, or is that just a pipe dream? Is there even any working theory that would suggest that if life is developing in an advanced stage on another planet that there are reasons why biologically it would be able to develop similar to us as hominid?

A: Xenobiologists have been doing their own version of the Drake Equation, trying to roll back the question of what is life, to its starting point, and say what are the different kinds of materials you could use to build life out of; so, there's speculation about silicon-based life, and life that could exist at the bottom of a gravity well of a Jupiter-like planet. So if you look at the entire space of life on earth; the majority of the biomass on earth is not human. Its bacteria, beetles, things like that. So, if you just look at earth, you're probably not going to run across humanoids in your exploration of the rest of the galaxy.

Q: Lord Rees said that ET could be looking right at us and we might not even know it, and that lifeforms - at least as microorganisms or something like that - we're finding in Antarctica are very hardy and can exist in conditions, even in volcanos, that 100 yrs ago we wouldn't have been able to believe. And now they're finding some indications that - like the moons of Europa - and on Mars, there's indication that there was water; There still may be some surface water and that there could be forms of life in those subsurface water systems. Do you think there's anything to that? Do you think it's probable that when we do make it to Mars that we will discover that there are things like that on Mars. Could it pose a potential threat to us, the Andromeda Strain?
A: I'm not so much worried about the Andromeda Strain, altho NASA has had protocols since we first landed on the moon for decontamination of space materials that are brought back from other planets, so there are protocols that are long thought out about how to deal with potential risk of infection. I'm quite certain that there has been cross contamination between Mars and earth in terms of at least microbiological life, and this is based on my reading of other astrobiogists. So I think we'll find at least some rudimentary life forms in the rest of the solar system.

Q: Let me turn this now to the more esoteric. The Vatican has for the last several years had comments from
various astronomers talking about how they believe there is a real possibility that we will soon be faced with our space brothers. Balducci actually made some fairly startling claims that ETs were already interacting with earth, and at the highest levels of Vatican administration there were people there who were aware of it. And even before that you had Vatican insider Malachi Martin out there saying the reason the Vatican is so heavily invested in the study of deep space at that observatory in Arizona was 'because they know what's approaching the earth,' and that it will be of the utmost importance in the next 5-10 years. His 10-year time frame ran out about 24 months ago, and you do have what seems like a significant amount of information coming out of the Vatican. So, do you think the Vatican knows something we don't, or is it simply positioning itself for the inevitable in order to somehow preserve its authority under any future scenario?

A: I think you and I know as much about alien life as the Vatican does. I don't think the Vatican has any hot line to some previous alien visitation or has an ambassador to Alpha Centauri or anything. I think what the Vatican is, though, is the oldest continuing institution in the world, and as a consequence it has a kind of organizational intelligence, not to mention Jesuits and the Vatican observatory, which is well respected - and people who work in astrobiology who are associated with that. So that's a little bit of intellectual vigor that
it brings to these questions, as well as an interest in organizational survival, so it does do some of those kinds of futurist speculation in a way that's very interesting, and I think that they're certainly right to try to anticipate what the effect might be for their theology, of these kinds of changes. Now, they haven't been terribly intelligent in the past. You know, they hung on to the heliocentric model of the universe for quite a long time, and persecuted people like Galileo in a way that really didn't help their case, and they resisted the growth of democracy for 150 years and it didn't help their case. And I don't think they're that smart about trying to figure these things out, but at least they're asking an interesting question.

Q: At Arizona State University there's a project that they came up with called "The Sophia Project." Are you familiar with that? In the press release it said the purpose of this study is to investigate the experiences of people who claim to channel or communicate with deceased people's spirit guides, angels, other wordly entities, ETs, and/or a universal intelligent God and that the objective is to investigate whether that can be
validated - that this communication is occurring. This means in some people's opinions ET is already here. This takes it back to this multi-dimensional reality. What do you make of any of that?

A: I'm a skeptic.

Comments: It is absolutely fascinating to see the huge gulf between the thinking of theologians, UFO researchers, field investigator VERSUS the military and scientists. They are generally diametrically opposed to each other in their views of UFOs. The first group believes they are inter-dimensional demonic entities, and the second group tries to portray them as solid physical beings from other planets.

Also intriguing to me is that, while the actual scientific results prove that there is no known life off Earth, the (so-called) scientist's opinions are littered with words and phrases such as: 'possibility, theory, if, no visible evidence, potential, if we lucked into, a thousand billion billion to one against it, so far we haven't seen it' - and yet they are billed as the objective ones. Their abilities to close their minds to the actual evidence is the same rigidity of mindset as their belief in the theory of evolution. They refuse to budge off their views, none of which can be proven. At the same time, they are "skeptics" when it comes to the real evidence of demonic activity.

The other thing noteworthy of this interview is that it gives some insight into the very real world of transhumanism - and human/animal hybrids - that have already actually been created and exist in labs around the world.

No wonder God is coming back to judge the world.

Intercessory Prayer

There are 8-10 people on my prayer list who have been on it for a long time. They are all 'hard cases' - most of them bitter and unrepentant. One, a name many would recognize, is a well-known atheist. He has been on my prayer list for over ten years. I fully expect that he will become a Christian. Why? Because the Lord would not have so powerfully put this man on my heart, otherwise. If it is from the Lord, he has plans for this person, who knows that I am praying for him and, in fact, insulted me by email at the beginning. It didn't bother me one little bit. He's targeted by the Lord and he carries that knowledge around with him every day.

I saw my grandmother and my own parents pray their children and grandchildren into God's kingdom, over a period of many years. They never gave up, and neither will I. They lived to see all of these relatives come to the Lord. And so will I.

Once, several years ago, a church was having a one-day seminar to introduce transcendental meditation (under a different name) to it's members. I talked to the pastor about it, and gave him information which showed that this was a New Age religious method which would put people in contact with 'another Jesus' and the demonic world. I asked him not to do it. A week or so before the seminar, he emailed me an article about the benefits of this 'prayer' and encouraged me to come and become involved. I replied that I was well familiar with it and could not approve of it or attend, but I told him what I would do instead was to spend the entire six hours alone in prayer for him and for the church. Which I did. A few days after the event, I received a cassette tape of his introduction to the 'prayer method' at the seminar, but significantly it did not include the actual session. The introduction, I noted, was full of disclaimers of how this was not New Age. Of course it was. I'll never know the results of my prayers that day, but I am certain there were results. It's not necessary for me to know the details. That's the Lord's business.

How often do I spend six hours in prayer? Not often - but when necessary. I will never be satisfied with my prayer life. Prayer is one of the most difficult parts in the lives of most Christians. We shoot up a prayer here and there and go on our merry ways. The first thing we need to do is set aside a particular time every single day, a definite commitment to spend that time with the Lord. This is very difficult at first. That's why it's called a discipline. :-)

I started by spending an allotted time for Bible study, followed by prayer time. The prayer time was the most difficult. After a while, I decided not to try to do what I thought everyone else did during prayer time. We imagine that every other Christian is a prayer warrior and spends hours in wonderful fellowship every day. But the truth is that since prayer is a conversation between two individuals it is a very personal thing. My own prayer time is not exactly the same every day. There are days when it's very routine and rather unsatisfactory to me, but I know the Lord hears and honors the commitment. There are other amazing days when I'm on my face before the Lord in wonderful blessing and exchange, and I can hardly believe the time spent. That's what all personal relationships are like. They're never predictable.

James 1:6-7 says, "Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering." Otherwise, "let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord." The key to power in prayer is faith. And even faith is a gift from God. Do we have power? James 5:16 says that "the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." The key to powerful prayer is obedience. "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me." (Psalm 66:18.) The reason there is so little power in our prayers is that we are walking in disobedience rather than in the light of God's Word. To receive the light of God's Word requires actually reading it!

When we get all of this untangled, understood, and we walk in obedience - then, we will see power as an expected result of our prayers. Our relationship and conversation with the Father will grow and mature over time if we discipline ourselves to it in the beginning, always remembering that Jesus himself is our intercessor, as is the Holy Spirit - right there to speak the words we sometimes find impossible to formulate.

Here is the thing of which we may not be aware. Satanists have prayer warriors. They target and infiltrate churches. They are very organized. And very committed. It's a priority with them. That's how they've de-fanged the church in the U.S. and transformed our culture in the wrong direction. This is war - is our side as dedicated as theirs?

Our citizenship is in heaven, and even though we're physically here on earth at the moment, we have real access to the heavenlies. Think about it. It's thrilling ... and powerful ... if we make it our priority.

UFO Disclosure/Contact, Part 4 - Jesse Marcel, Jr

Continuing information from a recent seminar, "Official Disclosure: Prepare For Contact," featuring top researchers, ex-government agents, world-famous field investigators, physicists and theologians. The post contains info directly from the featured speaker. Any comments by me will be in brackets [].

Col Jesse Marcel, Jr. says that a craft was recovered at Roswell. His father, Jesse Marcel, Sr. was the lead military investigator into the crash in 1947. Jesse, Jr. is the only man still alive who actually handled the debris from 1947. A rancher had discovered the debris and called the sheriff, who called Colonel Blanchard, the Base Commander, who sent his father to check it out.

After going to the site, Jesse's father brought some of the metallic debris home to show the family. It had writing on it which was similar to geometric symbols and looked like it was meant to be read or interpreted. Colonel Blanchard authorized a press release saying the AF had captured a flying disk, and it was published in a few papers. A few hours later the press release was retracted on orders above Blanchard, from Fort Worth.

Jesse, Jr. said the pictures which were taken of the debris, which he viewed later, were not of the same material his father had actually found; it was evidently disinformation. His father then sat him and his brothers down and said it could never be talked about again - ever - it never happened.

Jesse Marcel, Sr., his father, was an Intelligence Officer on faculty of Air Force Intel School at Pittsburgh, PA., and was highly qualified for just such an evaluation. Jesse, Jr. worked in Iraq as a doctor for the 189th Helicopter Division and was discharged in 2005.

"Roswell Legacy" is Jesse Marcel, Jr.'s new book's title. He wrote the book because he wanted to establish his dad's credibility. After his father died the government started attacking his father's story through disinformation, and Jesse, Jr. wanted to vindicate him.

Q& A Session (partial):

Q: Did you ever see the same material again?
A: No. Although I have looked at various types of foil similar to the Mylar which was said to be from the crafts, they were close to what I saw, but not exactly the same. The Government's story kept changing over the years (as people died, etc.). They went from weather balloon story to a top secret balloon type. The problem with that is, while the balloon was different, the material was the same as a regular weather balloon, unlike the craft debris.

Q: Were the 'aliens' 6' tall dummies, as some say?
A: No...they were small, according to a friend of mine who saw them. The girlfriend (nurse) of the guy who saw them said they were short, large eyes, very small noses - typical to greys...in fact, he heard them order some small caskets for them. [Rumors: a friend of a friend...]

Q: There is more recent credible testimony from widow of General Cordis; she has been speaking out after her husband died. After many years of refusing to tell her about Roswell, when he was approaching death he finally told her the reason he had refused to tell her about it was that he didn't want to challenge her worldview, as it had changed his. It is interesting that all these people had solid reputations until they began to talk. They had nothing to gain by lying about it. Most realized that disinformation agents would damage their reputations, but as they got older they decided to talk, and many have come forward. Who was the farmer that found the debris?
A: He and his son had a ranch out there, and that's where it landed. Bill Brazile (sp?) put some of it in his saddlebag, got drunk and started showing it around. Before long some well-dressed men came and took it from him. Next thing you know he was driving a new pickup and started a business with money everyone knew he didn't have.

Q: Have you ever seen the movie, Roswell? Did they portray you accurately?
A: Generally...not all the details.

Q: Your trip to Washington?
A: I went to a UFO meeting in D.C., and before going, I got a call from some government or military person in the Capitol who wanted to talk to me when I got there (I hadn't told anyone I was going). I got to the hotel and there was a phone message waiting. So I called the man and went to meet him at the Capitol building. He took me down into the bowels of the Capitol, and said he wanted to talk in a secure area. If was all a little furtive. We went down into a beautiful room, and on the table was a book on Roswell; the man pointed to it and said, "This isn't fiction." So I asked the guy 'when are you going to tell the public what happened there?' He answered, "If it was up to me I'd have told them yesterday, but it's not up to me. Another group has charge of this. He said that the group was spending money illegally, that Congress knew nothing about, and that it was his job to investigate this 'black group' spending this money to keep it secret. This was the first time I had had actually heard someone in the government say Roswell was the real thing. The guy also asked me if I'd gotten any threatening phone calls, which I had not. He told me to 'call me and I'll investigate it if you do.' I never got any.

Q: Interesting how you've got these secret government departments working against each other, black ops, black officers. I think I know who you're talking about, but I won't say his name. He was an aide to a senator. It's amazing you got involved in that, and had someone tell you all this. One side wants disclosure and the other wants to put a lid on it.
A: Yeah, here you have a black ops group, with unlimited funding, that Congress knows nothing about, controlled by a black military that is unknown to the government because of its higher classification.

Q: Did the debris frighten your family when your dad brought it in?
A: No ... it was just interesting. He was so excited about dealing with a flying saucer. I was in the right place at the right time to see something hardly anyone has ever seen.

Q: Do you think there will be an official disclosure, and do you favor it?
A: I'd love to see it released...to say I told you so...to confirm my experience.

_________END

The main reason I posted this, the most 'far out' of the interviews, is because I believe Jesse Marcel, Jr. is entirely sincere and honest in telling his story, which everyone has probably viewed on cable tv. However, I believe he has been misled every step of the way. The story serves to show the incredible range of information (or disinformation) that came out of Roswell.

Many people have tried to research, sort through and come up with the truth of what happened at Roswell. No one has been completely successful, and the well-hidden events remain murky to the public.

I believe the story regarding the craft itself was a Trojan Horse cover story created by the U.S. Military. Something of great significance, however, did happen there. This was when the Military began to seriously engage the entities and began working with them (calling them 'aliens'). Since 1947 it is well established that superior technology from these entities was given to the U.S. Military in exchange for certain privileges and access to human beings. A treaty was made. There is ample evidence of this.

Love Has No Regrets

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table.

But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. "We must do something about Father," said the son. "I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor."

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl!

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometime he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, "What are you making?" Just as sweetly, the boy responded, "Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up." The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

Happy Mother's Day: The Warrior

This morning my thoughts traveled along
To a place in my life where days have since gone
Beholding an image of what I used to be
As visions were stirred, and God spoke to me

He showed me a Warrior, a soldier in place
Positioned by Heaven, yet I saw not the face
I watched as the Warrior fought enemies
That came from the darkness with destruction for me

I saw as the Warrior would dry away tears
As all of Heaven's Angels hovered so near
I saw many wounds on the Warrior's face
Yet weapons of warfare were firmly in place

I felt my heart weeping, my eyes held so much
As God let me feel the Warrior's prayer touched
I thought "how familiar" the words that were prayed
The prayers were like lightning that never would fade

I said to God, "Please, the Warrior's name?"
He gave no reply; he chose to refrain.
I asked, "Lord, who is broken that they need such prayer?"
He showed me an image of myself standing there.

Bound by confusion, lost and alone,
I felt prayers of the Warrior carry me home.
I asked, "Please show me, Lord, this Warrior so true"
I watched and I wept, for Mother...
the Warrior was you!

UFO Disclosure/Contact, Part 3 - Nick Pope

Continuing information from a recent seminar, "Official Disclosure: Prepare For Contact," featuring top researchers, ex-government agents, world-famous field investigators, physicists and theologians. The post contains info directly from the featured speaker. Any comments by me will be in brackets [].

Nick Pope is the former Project Director for the British Classified UFO Project, in the Ministry of Defense. He was initially skeptical until hearing testimony in the 2-day discussion held by the Royal Society, the 350-year old organization considered the most prodigious science organization in the world. It is inconceivable that even 2-3 years ago this organization would have sponsored such a discussion.

Nick Pope said that there is a compelling body of evidence of consistent and unexplained UFO subject matter, such as the Rendlesham Forest incident in 1980, in which he was involved in a cold case review in 1994, for the British Ministry of Defense.

The famed Rendlesham Forest incident, which has been shown many times on cable TV, was a series of encounters at two USA air force bases in England, and occurred over a period of three nights. The first night involved strange lights, in which Air Force personnel went out to investigate what they thought was a crash of some sort. They found a landed metallic craft, touched it, noted strange symbols on it which were similar to Egyptian hieroglyphics. The Defense Intelligence staff assessed radiation readings at the site which were significantly high. When they went back to the clearing they found three indentations in the shape of a triangle. Radiation levels peaked in the three holes.

On the second night, at a Christmas base party, the door burst open, and man rushed in, saying, "It's back!" They went out again, thinking to debunk it, but Pope saw it himself, along with high ranking senior military officer, Charles Holt.

Asked whether any of the people there ever experience any mental or physical issues after the incident, Pope said, "Yes. It was a very disturbing aspect of this. You can look at many of the
people involved in this (names several); all have been affected, from post-traumatic stress to being 'messed with' in some way. One was John Burrows (sp?), who has been attempting to organize a reunion and is lobbying for congressional hearings on it. The personnel involved were threatened by military, some have physical problems such as radiation exposure, and some have psychological consequences. They say that the chain of command let them down. Some have been on Larry King. You can see someone who has been through a bad situation, in their eyes and voices. They are beginning to find their voices. Some are curious; some are angry. All want an explanation of what happened to them and why were they put through the consequences.

Q: Was there something else to this - religious, metaphysical, supernatural, other dimensional? Might it have also challenged their previous worldview? Because that has happened to people after Roswell and other events. They said they would never look at the world the same again.

A: Most definitely they believe they experienced something extra-terrestrial, intra-dimensional, or even inter-temporal (from the future). These perceptions come up all the time, and it has changed their worldviews. They all believe they have encountered something other-worldly. Whether they are right or wrong, it has had a 'transformative' effect on them.

Q: Have there been other issues involving abductions, crop circles, and other related issues connected to cases you investigated?

A: Yes. All these things tend to be connected to each other. You can't run a UFO project without getting drawn in to these other mysteries. I've run into animal mutilations, abductions, crop circles, remote viewing, ghosts, all sorts of things.

Q: Did any stand out?

A: GHOSTS were interesting. We got a lot of ghost reports, even in the Ministry of Defense Headquarters. We had ghost reports from guards, MPs, etc., and there were parts of the building where these people didn't want to go. The same thing was happening at the Department of State Headquarters, and you got used to it going on all the time. Very interesting.

Q: You also wrote two UFO books and two novels, and your website is www,nickpope.net. You were a total disbeliever before becoming involved in the UFO Project?

A: Yes. On my website I have articles, images, etc., and everything is free for the public to use any way they like. I want the information to get out there. Feel free to put articles on your own website, gratis.

Q: This brings me back to the released files. There were not just disclosure groups, but pilots, professional people, military. Even Winston Churchill wrote a memo in 1952. What can you tell us about that part of the released files that relates to scientists, gov't officials, air traffic controllers?

A: In this latest batch released, there were over 6,000 pages of documents, just in the last batch ... pilot reports, air traffic controllers, scientists, politicians, these reports all stand out. One, in Jan 1995, was a Boeing 737 approaching Manchester airport at about 9000 '. Suddenly a craft flashes across the front of the aircraft. The 1st officer is about to take evasive action so violent that it could have brought down the airplane, had he taken it. The only thing that stopped him was that this thing had gone before he could even react. Both he pilot and the first officer submitted an official report to the Ministry of Defense, and the conclusion was that no explanation was ever found for this, and they commended both for coming forward and reporting it. They said that the risk to the aircraft was inaccessible...just genuinely unknown. They didn't know what to make of it.

Another case from 1999 involving a senior air controller. In Scotland, he tracked a UFO, on radar, that was about a mile wide, travelling at over 1,000 mph. He assessed this as a real UFO. No explanation was ever found. There are numerous cases like this, one involving a person driving a car, which was enveloped by a strange cube of light; his radio cut out, his cell phone cut out, and afterward he became quite ill and went to a doctor. He had a skin rash, vomiting. There was strange debris dust found on the car. The AF took this away...we don't know where the sample is now and don't know the conclusion of the investigation. Something is going on.

Q: On the 1997 Boeing 737 a/c, was there any other kind of support, like radar?

A: No. And that was quite disturbing. You would expect something like that to have been tracked on radar. On the other hand, stealth tech has been around for many years. Lack of radar doesn't mean something wasn't there; radar will soon be antiquated anyway.

Q: What are your views about the MOD (Ministry of Defense)? Did your views change from
the time you began working for the MOD until you left the Department?

A: Yes. Of course, it's important for me to say that I served for 21 years in the MOD, so my time on the UFO Project - 3 yrs - was only one of a number of different jobs I did. I've been involved in security jobs, finance jobs, case work jobs, etc. In relation to UFOs, certainly I was pretty skeptical about the whole thing at the beginning. My exposure to the archive of UFO files, and my day-to-day investigation of the newly reported cases made me change my mind from that of a skeptic to, "Well, I don't know what the answer is to all this, but it's NOT just airplane lights and weather balloons."

Q: What's the MOD's policy on UFOs today, Nick? It seems as if they've closed the department down. They've publicly released all these files and are letting the public make up it's own mind. Is it that they've concluded even if there is something going on they can't do anything about it, or what is the position?

A: I think, frankly, they're in a state of confusion on this. On 12/1/2009 they formally terminated the UFO Project. But, really, all that meant is that they stopped taking reports from the public. Because, I know, as somebody who served 21 years there, you can absolutely take it to the bank that if a military pilot reports something, if a radar operator tracks an unidentified target on the screen, that will be looked at. It's just that it will happen outside of a formally constituted UFO project. So, MOD publicly is out of the game, but privately of course they'll still look at the really interesting stuff.

Q: In your opinion has something new, maybe beyond even government purview, taken its place? [We know that there is a joint military/entity group which is classified far above presidents or any other classified project...refer to Chuck Missler interview, also. It would be highly unlikely that Nick Pope would have any idea about these super-classified programs.]

A: No, I don't think so. I think somebody's going to be looking at this, but on an ad hoc basis. Actually, your question poses a very interesting thought - that one way (and I'm not saying this is happening, but, intellectually, I know that it can be done ) -one way to take something outside the sight of congressional scrutiny, outside of FOIA, is to put it in the private sector. And certainly with some of the most highly classified studies that MOD has ever done on UFOs, on things like remote viewing, they'd be done through defense contractors. So, maybe that's where people should be looking. [That's the first place I'd look. Of course, I'd find nothing.]

Q: In your heart of hearts, what do you believe? Are there intelligent life forms, ETs, outside of earth's reality?

A: Life out there - almost definitely. Are we being visited? I don't know. I can't rule it out.

Q: We know that the Vatican astronomers are studying deep space. Monsignor Balducci said some years ago that not only were we being visited, but the highest levels of the Vatican were even aware of it, and even in contact with these things.

A: I met Balducci on several occasions. He seems a truly honorable and spiritual man, and yeah...maybe he was right. It's just that I have no way of ... obviously... accessing the world that he moves in [lots of stuttering and stammering here, for the first time in the interview; his entire demeanor changed...why? He doesn't want to say what he really thinks about this].

Q: Now if it's possible that we in fact are in contact with some intelligence, as he insinuated, is official disclosure soon? Any gut feeling?

A: I don't know. It may not be our decision, of course. All of this essentially is going to be 'event-led' and it may not be our call.

Q: Well, it definitely won't be our call if some mother ship appears over the British MOD tomorrow night; it's going to be out of our hands. You've written extensively about your work with the MOD. Is talking about this not a problem, since you signed the Official Secrets Act?

A: I signed the OSA, but what that basically means is that I can...my position (hem/haw) basically is like when you catch a retired general talking about how the war's going in Afghanistan ...they can talk about their experiences, their opinions, but they can't talk about tactics and such. [ Changed demeanor again, even more than last time. He is not telling what he knows or suspects..]

Franklin Graham: Obama 'Giving Islam a Pass,' Warns of Persecution
Monday, 03 May 2010 08:16 PM
By: David A. Patten

Evangelical leader Rev. Franklin Graham issued his toughest remarks yet Monday on the administration's role in revoking his invitation to speak at the Pentagon's National Day of Prayer event, charging that President Obama is "giving Islam a pass" rather than speaking openly about the "horrific" treatment women and minorities receive in many Muslim countries.

In an exclusive telephone interview with Newsmax.TV, Graham called revoking his invitation to the prayer service "a slap at all evangelical Christians."And he clearly placed the blame on the Obama administration, telling Newsmax that the Pentagon would never revoke such an invitation without first consulting with the White House."I'm being restricted from my religious rights, and from what I believe," Graham warned, as he complained of a growing “secularization” in the government. He also warned Christian of “coming” persecution for believing in Jesus Christ.

‘Very Much Opposed to What We Stand For’

On April 22, the Pentagon announced that it would be "inappropriate" to have Graham speak at the May 6 event. After 9-11, Graham said Islamic teachings had made that faith "a very evil and wicked religion."He says that view is based on decades of travel and ministry to the Middle East where he has seen evidence of religious violence, including the mistreatment of women.

Graham said the Pentagon snub matter came up during last week's visit by President Obama with Franklin and his world-renowned father, Rev. Billy Graham, at the elder Graham’s home in North Carolina."He said he didn't know anything about it until two days prior to that meeting," Franklin Graham tells Newsmax. "And I would certainly believe him. I don't think that he would say something that wasn't true, so I believe what he said."But I certainly believe that it was people in his administration that said no," Graham continued. "I don't think the Pentagon would say no on an invitation like this without consulting the White House."

The Pentagon's invitation was actually to the National Day of Prayer task force led by Shirley Dobson, wife of respected Christian leader James Dobson. Shirley Dobson castigated the Pentagon's decision, saying it suffers from rampant "political correctness."

Graham, as the task force's honorary chairman, had been scheduled to speak at the event. After the invitation was rescinded, he warned that anti-Christian activists are trying to remove all traces of religion from the U.S. military. In his interview with Newsmax.TV, Graham said the invitation controversy is "absolutely" part of a pattern of hostility toward Christianity in the federal government."And I don't know if it's exactly from President Obama," Graham said in the interview. "But I'm certain that some of the men around him are very much opposed to what we stand for and what we believe."

The younger Graham tells Newsmax that he perceives an increasing secularization in government, a pattern that he says began long before Obama became president."This goes back into the Clinton years," he tells Newsmax. "This whole secularization has come in, creeping in, and it's getting more and more and more."And of course the Bush administration was very friendly toward evangelicals. And [Bush] certainly, I think if he were president … he would have overturned that [Pentagon] decision," Graham says. "And I am hoping that President Obama will do this as well."Islam Is ‘Not the Faith of This Country’

Asked why President Obama has praised Islam on several occasions, even as his administration has taken actions seemingly hostile toward Christianity, Graham said: "I don't know.”He continued: “It seems as though Muslims are getting a pass. And you look at the violence that they have portrayed against women. It's just horrific. If you just take women alone … And I just don't understand why the president would be giving Islam a pass."We certainly love the Muslim people," Graham went on to say. "But that is not the faith of this country. And that is not the religion that built this nation. The people of the Christian faith and the Jewish faith are the ones who built America, and it is not Islam."

Regarding the recent case of a British preacher recently arrested for publicly espousing the biblical view that homosexuality is a sin, Graham was asked if that level of secular repression could be enacted in the United States."Oh, no question. It's coming," Graham says. "I think when you preach that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, I think we're going to see one day that people will say, 'This is hate speech, because you're being so narrow and you're excluding other people.' I believe that, I think we're going to see that come."

Revocation of the Graham speaking engagement is one of several administration moves that have alarmed some Christian leaders.Earlier this year, an invitation to Family Research Council leader Tony Perkins to speak at a prayer lunch at Andrews Air Force Base was revoked, after he criticized President Obama's call to allow gays to serve openly in the U.S. military.Perkins, a veteran himself, told CBN: "I never thought when I put on the uniform as a United States Marine, served six years serving this country, never gave thought to the fact that one day I would be denied the right to speak."

In March 2009, the Vatican condemned the president's decision to lift Bush administration restrictions on public funding for stem-cell research. In April last year, the White House directed Georgetown University to cover up part of a crucifix, as well as the initials "IHS," a traditional symbol for Jesus Christ, that were visible above the podium where Obama was scheduled to speak.

The National Day of Prayer event is itself under attack. Earlier this month, U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb of Wisconsin ruled that holding a National Day of Prayer was unconstitutional, maintaining it violates the First Amendment's prohibition against the establishment of a religion by the federal government. That ruling stemmed from a lawsuit filed in 2008 by a group of atheists and agnostics. The Justice Department announced it will appeal Crabb's ruling.

The White House has announced President Obama will sign a proclamation recognizing this year's National Day of Prayer event, but he is not scheduled to attend Day of Prayer activities.During President George W. Bush's administration, an annual Day of Prayer event was held in the White House.

Psalm 91

Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler[a]
And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

Fret not thyself because of evil-doers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

I'm "Too Bad" For Jesus? Not a Chance!

I was musing about the many people I have known throughout my life who have come to personally know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior ... their many and varied paths to Him, and the obstacles and misconceptions that kept them away for too long.

It increasingly strikes me that many seem to think that something they have done in their lives, or are currently doing, is just 'too bad' for them to approach Christ. They can't figure out a way to get from 'here' to 'there' even though they may desire in their hearts to know Him. They make the mistake of believing there is something they need to do, or to fix, before they can know Jesus. This is SO erroneous.

That's the whole point of the good news of the gospel. We can never, ever be good enough. That is the very reason He died on the cross ... He paid a debt He didn't owe - to pay a price we couldn't pay. And He offers it to us as a free gift. All you need to do is truly repent of your sinful state and ask Him to become the Lord of your life. If this is the desire of your heart, He does the rest. He understands that we are unable to be what we deeply want to be.

About a year ago I ran into an aging man at the duck club we belong to. He had discovered he had cancer. David was off talking to somebody about birds and stuff (!) so I talked to the man (Ray) about his health. In the course of the conversation there was an opportunity to respond to a joking statement of his about dying, and I responded with something like: "Well, just make sure when you go, you head north instead of south." It was a light exchange, but serious, and we both knew it. He said that he had lived too bad a life to head north (See? There it is again!). I assured him that was not possible. It was the first time I had ever met him, and soon David was ready to leave, so I told Ray that I would pray for him every day.

I came home and found a tiny little booklet, one of many such that my parents always had available as far back as I could remember. It told people how to become a Christian. It was particularly appropriate for Ray because it was, I thought, his style. It had a lot of questions and answers. I wrote a personal note to him, and David took it out with him the next time he went to the club. He gave it to Ray with my note.

I prayed for Ray every day for the next year or so and occasionally asked David if he ever saw him. One day he said that Ray had finally died. I had some trouble (and a few tears) crossing his name off my prayer list. I just have a feeling that he read that little booklet and that the Lord answered my prayer and spoke to Ray's heart and that he said the simple prayer and believed. Our meeting was no accident. That's often the way it works. I won't know for sure until I get there, but I fully expect to see Ray again some day.

Then I recently ran across an elderly lady who told me that she had never known what Easter was really about until our pastor gave a little devotional at a nursing home that some of us visit several times a year. I was stunned. How could a person live 90 years in America and never know the meaning of Easter?

One of my favorite websites has a long list of links to personal testimonies from all kinds of people with varied hangups (as we all have), and I thought some of you might find it helpful. It's here: http://www.raptureready.com/test/testimonies.htm. If you, or someone you know, thinks you are 'too bad' to approach Jesus Christ, this might shed some light.

I wrote a booklet not long ago, entitled "How Do You Know For Sure If You're a Christian?" It's in book format - see the link to the left of my blog under PAGES.

Biblical Saints - Like US?

We often look at prominent biblical people as living lives unequaled in their godliness, people like Job, Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Moses, the prophets, King David, Solomon, and all of the New Testament apostles. I think all of these saints would laugh at the idea.

While their lives have been studied for centuries, the profundity of their examples of lives of faith is the very fact that they were just regular people - just like us. They came from all sorts of backgrounds, all levels of society and education. Their similarities to ourselves is what is so heartening to us. They had all types of personalities, character flaws, idiosyncrasies. Almost all of their lives are studies in the human foibles of humanity, which we can certainly identify with.

Peter, of course, is one person with whom we all identify. He was so much like us! It gives us hope. If Peter could ultimately be accepted in heaven, it seems more accessible to me. He was rash, impetuous, cut off a soldier's ear, denied Christ three times, and yet he was one of the fathers of the faith.

King David committed adultery and had Bathsheba's husband deliberately killed, and yet God said that David was a man after his own heart.

Moses was a man full of complexities. Raised in Pharaoh's household with every luxury man could imagine, yet he defended the mistreatment of the Jews, killed a man, and fled into the wilderness, giving up everything. He lived as a simple family man for many years until God called him to bring the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses was not overjoyed about this, and tried God's patience by finding excuses. When he finally obeyed God, he found himself in the desert for 40 years with a stubborn and willful people. He wasn't happy about it, and who could blame him?

The Bible is littered with 'regular' people, beginning with Adam and Eve, who didn't waste any time disobeying God. The prophets were sometimes cranky and depressed over the sins of the people. Joseph seemed to have been an arrogant child; a person can understand his brothers' irritations with him and his lofty dreams. The disciples, at one point, showed themselves to be overly ambitious, wanting to know who would be most important in the kingdom?

Well, you get the point. The tie that binds all of these people together was their strong faith. They believed, they trusted the Lord, and they were obedient. The Bible calls us 'saints,' too. It's all pretty overwhelming at times. Most of us don't feel the title rightly belongs to us, and yet God's Word says it does. Why? Because it pleases God. That's enough of a reason.

Still ... I'm going to continue to work out my salvation in fear and trembling, as we are instructed to do!

Contentment

Contentment is a rare commodity in this world. I recently read that well over 50% of Americans were taking anti-depressants. That statistic itself is depressing, if true.

Contentment is a state of satisfaction, peace of mind, perhaps best described by Paul: "I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." Phil. 4:11. Paul's contentment was not determined by circumstances. That's the bottom line.

No doubt a lot of the discontent in our society comes from shallowness of life, an inordinate desire for the things of the world, rather than placing our relationship with the Lord as the absolute top priority. Jesus told us to seek the kingdom of God first. That is the key to contentment.

I can certainly speak from experience on this topic. When I was a young and immature person, not putting my relationship with the Lord at the top of the list, I was buffeted about by every changing circumstance - a sort of basket case, one might say. I was extremely emotional. Everything was either fantastic or a catastrophe. I have no idea who I was back then. I am living proof of miraculous change, a walking miracle.

While it may be dangerous to do so, I think I can say with Paul that I have learned to be content regardless of the circumstances of life. Frankly, I never thought it would be possible to have that kind of contentment, nor did I seek it. It was a part of the miracle God has worked in my life.

How did it happen? I lived through many hard times and took many wrong turns. Even though I had asked the Lord to come into my heart as a young child, there was a day that I was fed up with choosing my own path, and on that day I committed myself 100% to giving Christ the reins of my life.

It was not a model, perhaps, of the way it 'should be done,' which proves there is no right or wrong way to approach God. He takes you just as you are. I was very angry, and I actually challenged God to prove he was 'there.' I bargained with him - in anger. I told him I would give him 100% for one year, and if he didn't prove he was there after that time, I would tell everyone it didn't work. When I think about that, I laugh every time, mostly out of relief that the Lord looked right through all that ... and saw my heart.

He wasted no time. Immediately, my life turned around and I headed in the exact opposite direction. I never had a doubt from that moment forward, and I forgot about the angry challenge until years later. And then I was amused. The Lord was so much ahead of me, so beyond me, and so full of irony. I never hear people talk about it, but I find the Lord to be very ironic .. in the sense of engineering the outcome of events to be contrary to what was, or might have been, expected. This feature has definitely been a hallmark of my personal relationship with the Lord. I can't tell you how many times I have smiled - even laughed out loud - at the way the Lord worked in a situation. "Delightful surprise" characterizes it.

Life didn't become easier. It became much more difficult, full of many challenging situations and circumstances. As the years rolled by my faith increased, as did my dependence on the Lord. Somewhere along the line, contentment settled over me. It's here to stay. I could live in a hut and be happy. Material things not only mean little to me; I find them an increasing hindrance, a distraction from more important endeavors. I'm eager to pare down to only those things of importance. Unfortunately, this life entails the reality of distraction.

"The fear of the LORD leads to life, so that one may sleep satisfied, untouched by evil." Proverbs 19:23.

"If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures." Job 36:11.

"But godliness with contentment is great gain." 1 Tim 6:6.

RECIPE FOR CONTENTMENT:

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." The entire 3rd chapter of Proverbs is the key to contentment. Read it here: http://kingjbible.com/proverbs/3.htm

Righteous Boldness

"The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion." Prov 28:1.

"Since we have such a hope, we are very bold..." 2 Cor. 3:12

"Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God's presence." Eph. 3:12

"Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God;" 1 John 3:21

"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Heb. 4:16

There are many more examples in scripture of boldness before the Lord, boldness in witnessing and boldness in speaking the gospel. A holy boldness is given to God's children who speak his truth. We can see this following Pentecost where the apostles and leaders spoke "boldly in the Lord." Acts 14:3.

Where does this boldness come from?

The Presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of a Christian. The apostles, "filled with the Holy Ghost," were filled with confidence and boldness as they spoke to the religious and political leaders, and to the early Christians, so much so that they were constantly persecuted right up to their deaths. Acts 4:13 says that the leaders "took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus." They were living witnesses to the power of Christ. When Christians speak with God's authority they speak boldly, with confidence.

God's Word. We can never be so confident in our boldness to speak, as when we are speaking directly from the Word of God. We are then enabled to speak "the word of God with boldness." Acts 4:31. When Paul was debating and persuading the philosophers and religious leaders of the day, he spoke boldly to "make known the mystery of the gospel." His confidence came from that very gospel, because he knew it was truth.

A Righteous Life. When a Christian is living in obedience to the Lord he has assurance that he has a powerful witness and the message of the gospel, and that he is compelled to spread that truth. "...in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body..." Philippians 1:20. He is living 'in' Christ and can therefore speak with the authority of a mature believer.

Our confidence and boldness doesn't come from our own abilities or goodness, neither of which would stand up for a moment. Our boldness comes from the inner witness of the Holy Spirit in the life of an obedient believer who loves to study God's Word, and whose life is a reflection of a changed life.

It's an amazing privilege to be heirs of salvation, boldly approaching the throne of grace in prayerful request for personal guidance and petitions. I never cease to be in complete awe of the grace and mercy that God has afforded us, in that he calls us his friends ... his brethren ... his children ... members of the family of the Creator himself. And he invites us to boldly approach him, as...

Nuclear Summit Predictions in a Nutshell

Since the fate of Planet Earth hangs in the balance, and you feel you should know something about the month-long Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty Summit, without bothering about all the details, this blog is the place to be. One-stop shopping, you might say. From a lifetime of experience with politics and human nature, and before the summit even begins, I will predict what will occur.

The Summit, held every five years, begins Monday, May 3rd, in New York City, and ends on May 28th, assuming the world doesn't blow up before then. If you're pressed for time enough for even one page, let me personally prophecy the following:

* Many proposals will be put on the table and avidly discussed, and none will be agreed on.
* As it is realized that no progress is being made, accusations will begin coming from all sides.
* The summit will end, with less agreement than when it started. All sides will claim victory.

In the 1960's, the point was to halt the spread of nukes beyond the five nations which possessed them: China, England, France, Russia, and the U.S. The rest of the world would agree not to develop nukes in exchange for the Big Five agreeing to get rid of theirs over time. And, naturalich, everyone would monitor and be monitored. And one more little issue, which any one of us could have predicted would prove to be problematic: the non-nuke nations could develop nuclear for peaceful energy purposes. (Who of us could not have predicted trouble here?)

Of course, problems have developed on that last little issue, Iran being perhaps the most obvious participant, and North Korea. So the idea is to discuss having a sort of 'central processing place' for all of this work on 'nuclear for peaceful purpose', thereby allowing all nations to visit, watch and supervise the goings-on. This idea will be discussed ad nauseum at this summit. You and I both know nothing whatever will come of it.

Another little problem that has arisen over the years is the difficulty of the IAEA to monitor a nation's - for the sake of argument, let's call that nation Iran - nuclear facilities. It appears that somehow Iran has facilities that the IAEA had failed to notice. Whoever would have thought such a thing could happen (except you and me)? Now, this type of little oversight has nurtured a certain understandable attitude of distrust among the otherwise salutary group of 189 nations.

Now that mention of 189 nations raises another difficulty. A unanimous vote is required to get anything done. You can see the problem. Self-interest can rarely apply to 189 different entities, thus diminishing any reasonable expectations of progress.

And then of course there may be hard feelings over the fact that some nations other than the Big Five have somehow managed over the years to develop nuclear capabilities, which was ... tsk! tsk! ... against the rules. Not only that, but nations have taken sides on who the "It's OK to have them" nations, and who the "It's Not OK to have them" nations, among the rule-breakers should be. Yes, it will descend into another unproductive and insoluble dilemma.

So, of course, it logically follows that another agenda item will be whether or not countries can 'opt out' of participating, which some have duplicitously deigned to do (without asking permission). As you and I can plainly see, this item is not going to be resolved, either. Just like in school, people will end up voting with their current set of friends.

As this interminably month-long summit begins to drag on, and the first flush of the rose diminishes, more and more attendees will find other more tantalizing things to do in the Big Apple than attend these increasingly tedious meetings. And since they are all protected with that haven of diplomatic immunity, the sky is the limit for their outside activities - although, in truth, their proclivities seem to tend notoriously in the opposite direction than the sky. As might be expected, as these truants who are now free from the ever-present ears of the '189' discover, there are side deals to be covertly made outside of the summit halls. This is where any real progress is made, if 'progress' is the word one wishes to use. Unfortunately, this type of progress usually fails to contribute to the goals of the summit; in fact, these agreements tend to be the very things that cause the problems and disagreements aforementioned.

As the event winds down, there is the usual bandying about of such things as test-ban treaties and other ideas so far-fetched in the probability of actual accomplishment that the discussion tends toward a more relaxed atmosphere. Add in those clandestine agreements made in the highways and byways of NYC, and the event ends in a downright sporting milieu, as all 189 put on their false faces for the soundbites with the media, before jetting off to report 'productive talks' to the press at home - assuming no nuclear war has been initiated during the summit.

And that, my friends, is what will take place. I haven't lived all these years for nothing.
