Will Animals Be Redeemed?

One of the first things that struck me years ago when I began studying the Old Testament was the incredible care and concern that God exhibited toward the 'beasts.' In fact, sometimes I use that to get my husband to walk the dog, telling him that he will have to account to the Lord for his care (or lack) of the the animals :-) ... otherwise known as putting a guilt trip on him. It works!

In all of God's workings he was always thinking of the beasts. In his dealings with the Israelites through the forty years in the desert there is a lot of scripture about the animals. They shared in the blessings and the curses right along with the people. God loved all of his creation; he saw that it was good.

A part of the sin and corruption that we now suffer is evidenced through the anti-God (Antichrist) doctrine of evolution. This serves many of Satan's purposes, one of which is to debase man by degrading him down to the level of animals (and even plants) and exalting the beast up to the level of man, so that humans will believe they are nothing but animals. And humans believe it. The fact that they believe it is, in and of itself, evidence of spiritual corruption.
When Adam and Eve sinned, it was a cosmic event. It reverberated throughout the universe, throughout time and space, affecting all of creation. Therefore, all of creation - not just us - eagerly awaits redemption.

Romans 8:19-22 "For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now."

Yes. The animal kingdom will be redeemed. (I'm not saying that pets will be resurrected or that your personal animal will be revived! That is beyond my pay grade.) Everything will be made new and will fulfill the purpose for which it was created. All of creation is eagerly awaiting with "groans and labors with birth pangs" and will "also be delivered from the bondage of corruption." The relationships between humans and animals will once again be harmonious, as it was in the Garden of Eden before Eve succumbed to the lies and deceptions of Satan, bringing sin and death into the world. That will all be changed into glorious liberty and right relationships. Here is another prophetic passage:

Isaiah 11:6-9: "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, The leopard shall lie down with the young goat, The calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze; Their young ones shall lie down together; And the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD As the waters cover the sea."

God's creation will be as it was intended to be, when the earth and all its creatures are redeemed.

No more rattlesnakes to be concerned about (or any other serpents).
