... those things that are eternal.
Only the things done for Christ will last. Get rid of the rest. Quickly.
Detach from them altogether.
You are not properly prepared for Christ's return if your time is wasted over-thinking about your bank account, your retirement funds, your mortgage, a new vehicle, great fashionable clothes for your children, preps (yes), guns, ammo ... and I could name many more.
Do you realize all of these things will be damaged and destroyed in the short term? None of it will remain intact. It will dwindle away before your very eyes, unless it is destroyed outright in one moment of time. Either way, you can count on this. It's on its way out. And soon.
Do you have gold and silver sitting in some 'safe' place so that you can continue your life style should you lose value in some of your earthly goods or currency ...WHILE ... Christian sisters and brothers are desparately trying to eke out a bare existence? Many good and godly people cannot pay medical bills, buy proper food, etc. Are we not a body? In fact, the body of Christ? Is this 21st Century Church acting like the church of the Book of Acts? Not most of the time.
This is SINFUL.
This is also why people get angry with me - for pointing it out.
Most people do not want to hear or see the TRUTH. They want to enjoy what they deem to be enjoyable and satisfying to them personally.
Unfortunately, very soon we will be faced with TRUTH in the form of a face to face meeting with the Master, and there will be no covering it up.
It is not having possessions that is inherently wrong. It is having them as the priority - the priority - in your life. How do they, or do they, fit into a life in which Jesus Christ and His plan and purpose are the primary concern?
Job (in the Book of Job) was wealthy, and so was the rich young ruler. Examine the differences between them.
Put your life up to the mirror of God's Word. Conform to His Will. Give up every earthly consideration and take up the armor of God. Find wise Christians and consult with them. In this age, they are rare, but if you ask the Lord, He will direct you to them.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your strength, with all your might - with your very life, should it be required.
The life of flesh is about to become immaterial. Literally.
The Lord loves you and so do I. You, my dear readers, are in my prayers.
