Odd bedfellows ... I got this article off a Catholic website and it is written by a Baptist minister. Oh, well....the truth is the truth ... and it is still found in diverse places, one more confirmation that the body of Christ is found everywhere throughout Christ's church. Thank the Lord. CMR

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For
thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt
my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the
congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights
of the clouds; I will be like the Most High. Yet thou shalt be brought
down to hell, to the sides of the pit.” (Isaiah 14:12-15)
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?” (2 Thessalonians 2:3-5).

Many Bible students
believe that the passage of Scripture quoted in Isaiah above is a
description of what happened in the heavens when Satan (then the angel
Lucifer) lifted himself up in rebellion against God and thus beginning
the spiritual warfare that continues to rage throughout all creation
today. The next passage from the second epistle to the church at
Thessalonica describes what will take place in the future (perhaps the
near future) when the “son of perdition” posing as the Son of God (i.e.
the Antichrist) does the same thing here on earth.
This Antichrist will come
as a peacemaker, especially bringing a peace agreement in the Mideast
between Israel and the Palestinians. This agreement will allow Israel to
rebuild their temple that was destroyed by the Romans in A.D. 70. As
the Jews rejoice over the ability to at last observe all of the
ceremonies and traditions of their worship under the law they will be
aghast when this imposter sets himself up as God (just as Satan tried to
do earlier).
The whole world will be
thrown into chaos, and peace will not be found anywhere on earth. There
will only be war, famine and disease (“For when they shall say, peace
and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a
woman with child; and they shall not escape” 1Thessalonians 5:3).
Contrary to popular
thinking, things are not going to end well for those who reject the
truth of the Bible and its warnings of the end times. Only those who put
their trust and faith in Jesus Christ will escape this time.
Listen to the words of
Jesus, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and
believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come
into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24).
